Privacy policy
What stays on your device
If you clone a voice, the recording and the voice made from it are stored only in your browser. We never receive them.
Your scripts, generated audio and history are processed and stored in your browser only. They are not uploaded to our servers.
If you connect an AI tool
The optional Connector feature lets an AI tool you choose send commands to your open Clonylab tab. Those commands, including any text the AI asks to be spoken, pass through our server to your browser and are not stored by us; the audio is still made in your browser. Only what the AI asks for (for example a finished voice-over) is sent back to it. The AI tool you connect has its own privacy terms. Access tokens are stored only as a one-way hash, and you can delete them or switch the connection off at any time.
What we store
Your account email and a password hash; your subscription status (from our payment provider); and simple usage numbers per generation (voice, language, character count, audio length, and whether your graphics card or processor was used) so we can show you a usage page.
If you chat with support
If you write to us in the chat, we keep your messages, the name and email you give us (or your account email), and the technical details you choose to attach: your browser and system, whether voices run on your processor or graphics card and how its test went, your processor cores and memory, the last few error messages and the page you were on. Never the text you typed into the studio, your audio, recordings or history. Our team reads these messages to help you, and may email you the replies. We keep chats for 12 months and then delete them, and deleting your account deletes your chats. We also keep a note of your browser error messages and of how the graphics-card test went (vendor and architecture only) for a few weeks, and a log of the emails we send you (address and subject, not the text).
Your device details
When you are signed in, your browser tells us what kind of computer you use: browser and system, number of processor cores, memory, the graphics card's maker and design (never a serial number), whether the graphics-card test passed, and whether voices are made with the processor or the graphics card. Our team uses this to find out why something does not work on a device. It is kept with your account and deleted with it, and never includes anything you type or make.
Cookies
We use a sign-in cookie and a security (CSRF) cookie, both strictly necessary.
If you choose Accept in the cookie notice, we also use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (their names start with _ga) and receives the page address, your approximate location (country and city), and your browser and device type. It is loaded only after you accept and never if you choose Reject. We keep the analytics data for 14 months. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use Google Analytics to build advertising audiences.
Your choices
You can export or clear your history in the studio, and delete your account from the account page.
