Writing for an American voice

Using more than one American voice in a project
You are not limited to one voice per file. A voice tag switches the speaker, so a short dialogue or a host-and-guest read takes one script. Pairing a female and a male voice is the easy way to make the change obvious.

Why some voices download bigger than others
The Studio shows a download size next to every voice. The Kokoro voices show about 92 MB, and some of the neutral Piper voices are smaller, such as Bryce at 64 MB. The first time you use a voice, your browser downloads those files once and then keeps them.
- Try one voice first. A big download for a voice you end up not using is wasted time.
- Stay on the same Wi-Fi for the first run if you can.
- Reuse your favourite. Once downloaded, it starts instantly, even offline.

Any voice can read any script, and there is no rule that says a female voice must do ads. Still, a few starting points save time.
